Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you are welcomed by your professional safari representative. Transfer by road or domestic flight to Kasese in western Uganda, enjoying scenic countryside views, tea plantations, and crater lakes. Check into your lodge at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains for relaxation and trek briefing.
Overnight in Kasese.After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and a detailed mountaineering briefing. Meet your guides, porters, and trekking team. Enjoy a short acclimatization hike through montane forest trails to prepare your body for altitude gain.
Overnight at the base lodge or first mountain camp.Begin your Rwenzori trekking adventure through dense tropical rainforest filled with giant ferns, waterfalls, and unique birdlife. Watch for blue monkeys and colobus monkeys. Arrive at Sine Hut for dinner and overnight.
Overnight at Sine Hut.Ascend through bamboo forest into the Heather Rapanea zone. The landscape transforms dramatically with moss covered trees and giant lobelias.
Overnight at Mutinda Camp.Take a guided acclimatization hike to higher ridges, offering panoramic views of the Rwenzori ranges and surrounding valleys. Return to camp for rest and hydration.
Overnight at Mutinda Camp.Cross high alpine valleys and boggy terrain characterized by giant groundsels and lobelias. This section showcases the surreal Afro-alpine ecosystem.
Overnight at Bugata Camp.Traverse scenic ridges with spectacular views of Mount Stanley, Mount Baker, and Mount Speke. Descend slightly for overnight rest at Hunwick's Camp.
Overnight at Hunwick's Camp.Ascend toward Margherita Camp near the base of Mount Stanley. The terrain becomes rocky and glacial, offering dramatic high altitude scenery. Prepare for summit attempt.
Overnight at Margherita Camp.Begin pre-dawn ascent to Margherita Peak, the highest point in the Rwenzori Mountains. Cross glaciers and rocky ridges with technical guidance. Reach the summit for breathtaking sunrise views over Uganda and Congo. Descend to Hunwick's Camp for overnight.
