This 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari takes you through scenic savannah landscapes, tropical rainforests, and mist covered mountains in southwestern Uganda. Experience a walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park, a chimpanzee tracking experience, mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, a scenic countryside drive through rolling hills and terraced landscapes, and an Equator stop for photography.
Early morning pickup from Kampala or Entebbe and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy scenic countryside views and a stop at the Equator for photos. Arrive at Lake Mburo in time for a guided walking safari with an armed ranger. Explore the park on foot and get close to zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, and buffaloes a rare opportunity compared to traditional vehicle safaris. Optional afternoon game drive before continuing to your lodge near Bwindi or Mgahinga for overnight.
Dinner and overnight at lodge.After early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Begin your gorilla trekking adventure through dense rainforest terrain. The trek may take 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once found, spend one magical hour observing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat watching them feed, play, and interact. This is a life changing wildlife encounter and one of Africa's most sought after safari experiences. Return to the lodge for relaxation.
Dinner and overnight.After breakfast, enjoy a chimpanzee tracking experience (depending on itinerary arrangement, this may take place in the southern sector or en route back). Track habituated chimpanzee groups in forest habitats and observe their dynamic social behaviors. After lunch, begin your return journey to Entebbe with scenic stopovers for photography and souvenir shopping. Drop-off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for departure.
